JOHANNESBURG - Indian spin legend Anil Kumble will offer tips to budding South African spinners in a coaching clinic here next week.

Kumble will arrive in Johannesburg Thursday and join current South African spinners Paul Harris and Johan Botha in giving bowling tips to the young and upcoming spinners of South Africa.

“Anil Kumble is a living legend, and CSA is honoured that he has accepted our invitation to come out to South Africa and work with tomorrow’s stars. We will also invite some of our women cricketers, young batsmen and wicket-keepers, who we believe, will benefit from the experience,” Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Gerald Majola said in a statement.

Kumble will also be representing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second edition of Champions League T20 starting Sep 10 in South Africa.

The clinic will be attended by CSA’s High Performance spinning coaches Shafiek Abrahams, Harry Shapiro and Paul Adams.

“CSA is encouraged by the progress made by our High Performance team and we are confident that this visit is going to boost the good work being done in the spinning department.”

Kumble with 619 scalps is the third highest wicket taker in Test cricket behind Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.
