Man City will be Premier League title contenders in three weeks: Mancini

LONDON - Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes that he can turn his star-studded squad into Premier League title contenders in three weeks.
Manchester City has spent around 100 million pounds this summer to get new players like Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Jerome Boateng and Aleksander Kolarov to Eastlands for the new season.
Mancini’s sixth summer signing is likely to be James Milner.
“Can we win the title? Why not? We know Manchester United and Chelsea are the top. If we work well in the next two or three weeks we can have a chance,” The Sun quoted Mancini, as saying.
“I am happy with my squad but we need to work together for at least two weeks because we haven’t been able to do that for the last month. The new players arrived a week ago and then went for an international game.
“Look at the game at Tottenham, it’s difficult because they will play the same team as last year. Our team will be different. We need time - but not two months. Just two or three weeks to work together is all we need to be a very good team,” he said.
Mancini ridiculed suggestions that he is trying to change too much too quickly at City, who finished fifth last. (ANI)
