LONDON - Chelsea star Michael Essien has surprised his teammates by using push bike to reach training ground instead of driving his 190,000 pound Lamborghini.

He regularly cycles the 10-mile round trip from his Surrey mansion to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground.

The 120,000 pound-a-week earning Ghana midfielder has been nicknamed “Lance” after Tour de France legend Lance Armstrong by his Premier League friends.

While the Chelsea players park their Bentleys and Porsches, Michael gets off his 1,300-pound two-wheeled racer.

“I started coming in by bike because I found it interesting. I just thought it would be a nice journey - and it’s good for my fitness,” News of the World quoted Michael, as saying. (ANI)
