KOLKATA - The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Tuesday appointed Australian Dav Whatmore as the coaching director of its academy.

Making the announcement after the CAB’s working committee meeting here, its president Jagmohan Dalmiya told reporters that a one-year contract was signed with Whatmore Tuesday.

“He will be the director of coaching of our academy. He wil be in-charge of coaching under-14, under-16 and under-19 boys,” Dalmiya said.

Whatmore, now coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has earlier coached national sides of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
