KARACHI - Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan, who has been denied a place in the national squad even after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ended his indefinite ban, is still hopeful of making a comeback in the team.

Khan said he has come out of several difficult situations since making his international debut in 2000, and would also overcome the current wrangle.

“It is nothing new for me. In the past also I have made comebacks after being dropped. I know my time will come soon but at the moment I am just enjoying my free time,” The Daily Times quoted Khan, as saying.

“I don’t want to talk about the issue but I know soon I will be back. I know what I am capable off. If I put my mind on something, I achieve it. So whenever the comeback opportunity comes I will be ready for it,” the middle order batsman added.

Khan, who was slapped a hefty fine and banned indefinitely by the PCB alongwith Mohammed Yousuf following Pakistan’s winless tour of Australia in earlier this year, was not picked for the England tour, as the PCB insisted that he would have to apologise to the board for his behaviour in Australia.
