KARACHI - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has donated over 11.42 million rupees as aid to help victims of the devastating deluge that has submerged almost one-fifth of the country.

The donation to the Prime Minister’s relief fund has been made jointly by PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, the board’s staff and players.

A statement issued by the PCB said that it is working towards drumming up more support for over 20 million people, who have been affected by the catastrophe, through international exhibition matches.

The PCB said it is negotiating with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to hold an exhibition match in England with international stars to raise funds, The Daily Times reports.

Star all rounder Shahid Afridi has also launched a campaign and is touring flood-affected areas to distribute funds, food and other relief materials. (ANI)
