Impossible to compete with ‘money-bags’ Man City in buying players: Mourinho

LONDON - Taking a dig at Manchester City’s huge spending prowess, Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that they cannot compete with them in terms of buying new players.
Mourinho said that City even outbid Madrid for defender Aleksandar Kolarov, who signed from Lazio for 16 million pounds.
“If someone wants to compete with them for a player, it’s very difficult to compete against them. They are dominant in the market. I was very interested in Kolarov when I came to Madrid. But I could not compete because they went to values that you cannot go.
“So when Sir Alex says ‘kamikaze’, if he’s referring to the way they are eating the market, then I agree with him. But if they have the money, they can do it and if they have the ambition to win the Premier League they can do it,” The Sun quoted Mourinho, as saying.
City has spent 120 million pounds this summer on stars such as David Silva, Yaya Toure, James Milner and Mario Balotelli. (ANI)
