LONDON - Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, who is yet to make his Premier League debut since joining for 25 million pounds from Inter Milan, has emerged unscathed from a car crash.

According to reports, Balotelli was at the wheel of his Audi A8 when it collided with a BMW in Chester Road, Hulme.

Police were called to the scene of the accident, and the Italian was questioned before being picked up in a club Mercedes.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “At 9.45a.m. today (Saturday) we were called to Chester Road in Hulme to reports of a two-car collision. Officers attended and found a black BMW had been in collision with an Audi A8. Nobody was injured. Both cars were damaged and removed from the scene.”

Balotelli is out of today’s Premier League clash against Sunderland due to a knee injury - not caused by the accident.

“The club can confirm there was an incident this morning near the training ground. Mario crashed his Audi into a BMW, but thankfully, emerged unhurt,” News of The World quoted a City spokesman, as saying.

“He was able to train as normal and no police charges have been brought against any party,” he added. (ANI)
