ROME, ITALY (GaeaTimes.com) — Giuseppe Rossi is back with a bang as he helps Italy to smash Faeroe Islands by 5-0 in new coach Cesare Prandell’s home debut on Tuesday night.

Alberto Gilardino, Daniele De Rossi, Antonio Cassano, Quagliarella and Andrea Pirlo scored for the Azzurri. Although Giuseppe had few chances to score, he was denied by the defense and a good goalie. But he seems quite happy with the outcome of the match which fetched Italy valuable 3 points. It was the Italy’s biggest margin of victory since beating Malta 6-1 in 1993.

Last Friday Italy had to struggle hard to beat Estonia by 2-1. But now they have total 6 points in their bag for the Euro Cup 2012 qualifiers. On the other hand Faeroes remained without any points following it’s third successive loss.

Coach Prandelli has remodeled the entire squad after a grim elimination of Italy in the first round of the World Cup 2010. Now the team focuses more on the talents of Cassano, who was excluded by Lippi earlier.

Italy is going over to Northern Ireland on Oct. 8. Next they will be hosting Serbia four days later.
