LONDON - McLaren Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton insists that he would continue to be an aggressive driver, but said that he is now better equipped to deal with a situation like Sunday’s opening lap howler at Italian Grand Prix.

Hamilton damaged his car when he tried to pass Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, which resulted in a broken suspension and his second retirement in the past three races.

“You always kick yourself when you make a mistake. You kick yourself more than anyone can kick you. It’s how I deal with it. If I hadn’t done what I did I probably wouldn’t be who I am because I do push,” The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

“That’s how I do it. I feel I am better equipped to deal with something like this than perhaps was the case a few years ago. It is mistakes like the one I made that can be the deciding factor in world championships.”

“But it’s also how you bounce back that determines and shapes a world champion. I will continue to grow and improve,” he added.

With just five races left, Red Bull’s Mark Webber has regained the championship lead.

At 187 points, Webber is now five points ahead of Hamilton and 21 in front of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. (ANI)
