Chivas USA wins on penalty kicks

SAN DIEGO — Michael Lahoud scored on the fifth penalty kick to seal a 1-0 victory for Chivas USA over Chivas Guadalajara on Tuesday night in an exhibition soccer match.

Lahoud beat Chivas Guadalajara goalkeeper Sergio Arias to give the team a 4-2 edge. Jesus Padilla, Jorge Flores, and Rodolfo Espinoza scored the other penalty kicks for Chivas USA while goalkeeper Kevin Guppy gave up just two goals on four shots by Chivas Guadalajara. Michel Vazquez and Ulises Davila scored for Chivas Guadalajara.

Both teams had excellent scoring chances throughout the match and the four goalkeepers came up with outstanding stops.
