LONDON - England cricket team coach Andy Flower is confident that out of form and out of favour middle order batsman Kevin Pietersen will be part of the squad going to Australia for the Ashes tour in November this year, despite his foul-mouthed Twitter rant.

Pietersen was dropped for the NatWest one-day series against Pakistan after a moderate run of form in both the Test and one-day international formats and accidentally leaked the news to thousands on Twitter.

Flower said: “I expect KP to be one of our star performers in Australia.”

“I expect a lot of him. He’s a very talented and hungry man, and I expect him to do great things for England in Australia. I’m thinking positively about his future - that he will do great things for us, not just good things,” News of The World quoted Flower, as saying about Pietersen.

“I believe that deep down he understands the reasons he was dropped, even if he disagreed with them. I also believe he will come back stronger from it,” Flower added. (ANI)
