LONDON - Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov has admitted that he feared a full-on hairdryer blast from boss Sir Alex Ferguson after United surrendered a two-goal lead to Liverpool, just as they had at Everton the previous weekend.
Berbatov who scored three goals in the match to ensure a close win, said: “After being 2-0 up and letting it come back to 2-2, we knew the boss was going to be furious after the game.” e completed the first United hat-trick in this clash for 64 years with an 83rd-minute headed winner.
The Sun quoted him, as saying: “It felt like a magical day, very special for me because I scored a hat-trick and we beat our rivals. Everyone is very happy in the dressing room.”
It was Berbatov’s best performance in a United shirt in what has been a prolific start to the season. He has bagged seven goals in six games, including the Community Shield.
“Hopefully, every game I will improve and everything will happen for me like it did today (Sunday),” he said. (ANI)
