KOCHI - There is no crisis among the Kochi IPL team franchise partners and talks are going on among them, Vivek Venugopal of the Rendezvous Sports World, which won the franchisee rights for the team, said Thursday.
“We have not received any show-cause notice from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” Venugopal told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Rendezvous Sports World won the bid for Rs.1,500 crore.
Congress parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor, who resigned as minister of state for external affairs for allegedly dabbling in the affairs of bringing this team to Kerala, is the mediator among the partners.
Rendezvous Sports World is owned by a consortium that includes Venugopal, a businessman based in and out of the state. Shailendra Gaekwad is also one of the owners.
Venugopal with other five companies has formed a group called Kerala Consortium. The others are Anchor Earth, Parani Development Pvt Ltd, Anand Shah Developers and Film Waves.
Meanwhile, time is running out for the team which has to register as per the Companies Act in 10 days to take part in the next edition of the Twenty20 league.
