Brit cricket club chief quits 75K pounds job as police launch sex attack probe

LONDON - An executive at Essex County Cricket Club resigned from his 75,000 pounds-a-year job just days after police started investigating him for sexual assault allegations.
Alan Lilley is accused of sexually assaulting a 37-year-old catering manager at the ground last month.
The employee of Lindley Catering firm accuses him of assaulting her on a number of occasions last month.
Within 72 hours of the complaint being lodged, Lilley agreed to work from his home in nearby Braintree, Essex, while police investigated, reports the Daily Mail.
Two weeks later he quit, saying he wanted a ‘healthier work/life balance’, leaving the Chelmsford club immediately.
When Lilley was asked about the sexual assault allegations at the Essex Cricketers pub, which he took over with his wife Karen last July, he said: ‘I’m seeing police on Tuesday, but I’m innocent.’
It is understood that there have been complaints of harassment from up to eight women who work at the club about Lilley.
Essex Police confirmed an allegation of sexual assault was made on September 10. (ANI)
