PERTH - Western Australia skipper Marcus North hopes a string of strong performances for the Warriors over the next month will shore up his Test spot for the upcoming Ashes series.

“My job is to make runs. Coming off a hundred in my last Test match, I’ll be looking to make sure I’m being successful with WA and making a lot of runs there. And come November, the first Test match, by doing that, hopefully I’m on the park,” The Age quoted North, as saying.

“Obviously making runs gives anyone confidence but certainly making a hundred against India in those conditions gives me a lot of confidence coming back here for the games with WA. I felt in really good touch over there (in India), even if I did miss out a few times in the other innings,” he added.

Western Australia takes on Victoria in a one-day clash at the MCG on Saturday. (ANI)
