MARGAO - The third and final One-day International cricket match between India and Australia was abandoned here Sunday without a ball being bowled due to a wet outfield.

The two umpires, Billy Bowden and Amiesh Saheba, and match referee Chris Broad, inspected the field thrice, but the outfield was wet and had damp patches because of heavy rains in the last couple of days.

India thus won the three-match ODI series 1-0 following their victory in the second ODI at Visakhapatnam. The first ODI at Kochi was also washed out.

India had also won the Test series 2-0.
