Oz Davis Cup captain Rafter wants to end Hewitt-Tomic feud

LONDON - Australia’s new Davis Cup captain Pat Rafter has said that his first task will be to end the feud between former world No.1 Lleyton Hewitt and rising star Bernard Tomic.
Speaking publicly for the first time since his appointment last week, Rafter said that he would soon organize talks between the two players.
“It’s no secret they’ve had issues, but I really believe we can get them to sit down together and we can resolve this,” the Courier Mail quoted Rafter, as saying.
“They’re both up to having a chat,” he added.
The feud dates back to last year’s Wimbledon, where Tomic allegedly snubbed Hewitt over a practice hit request.
Rafter is hopeful that Hewitt would not only sort out his differences with Tomic, but would eventually become a mentor for the 18-year-old.
“It would be really important for Bernard to have someone like Lleyton around - he would offer him so much,” Rafter said. (ANI)
