LONDON - Bolton Wanderers striker Ivan Klasnic has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of raping a 17-year-old girl.
The alleged victim had called the Greater Manchester Police on Monday, and claimed that she had been sexually assaulted at Klasnic’s flat in Deansgate.
Klasnic, who is married with one daughter, was arrested at his home on Monday afternoon.
“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and released on bail pending further inquiries until November 1,” the Sun quoted a Greater Manchester Police spokesman, as saying.
The allegation comes just four weeks after his wife Patricia gave birth to their daughter, Fabiana.
The 17-year-old girl is due to give a formal interview which will be videoed.
Klasnic had signed a two-year contract with Whites in August after a season on loan from French club Nantes. (ANI)
