Becks dismisses US citizenship rumours
By ANIFriday, November 5, 2010
LONDON - Former England captain David Beckham has dismissed reports that he wants US citizenship, insisting he is still very much an Englishman.
“You may have seen some recent quotes attributed to me. Just to be clear - I’m happy living in America but have no intention of becoming a US citizen,” the Sun quoted him as saying.
“I’m English and proud to be. That will never change,” he said.
It had been reported that Beckham, who has been living in Los Angeles since 2007, had said “it would be nice” to get citizenship in the States.
However, his latest comments end such speculation.
He currently lives in Beverly Hills with wife, Victoria, 36, and their three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five. (ANI)
