MELBOURNE - Pacer Brett Lee, who is working hard to make a return to the Australian ODI and T20 squad, is also planning for a life beyond sport and has signed a lucrative network deal with Channel Nine.

Lee told Insider that cricket would be minimal compared to working across Getaway, A Current Affair and Today.

“I can tell you right now I won’t be sitting up in a box commentating for six, seven hours. No chance. That doesn’t excite me. It’s the things away from cricket that really excite me,” Lee said.

Lee will film his first piece for Getaway in the coming weeks, while also looking to file fitness and lifestyle pieces for ACA.

“The greatest thing is they have given me free rein as to what I want to do and what interests me - I’m heavily into fitness, music and fashion,” The Daily Telegraph quoted him, as saying.

Lee was adamant the move did not signal an end to his cricket career.

“My goal is to get back into the Australian cricket team and I believe I can hopefully offer them a lot of good service over the next year or two. My long-term goal is to play in the 50-over World Cup, which happens to be in India. That would be a great achievement,” he said. (ANI)
