LONDON - WBA champion David Haye insists Audley Harrison deserves his 1.5 million pound pay day for just seven minutes and 53 seconds of work.

The WBA champ was stunned after boxing chiefs said they were ready to withhold Harrison’s purse after the three-round world title farce in Manchester.

Harrison landed just one punch before ref Luis Pabon stopped the heavyweight bout.

The Sun quoted Haye, as saying: “Audley should still get paid. He took a beating like he was supposed to. That was all he was ever going to do. He’s getting paid something like a million and a half for taking a beating. Not bad for the one jab he landed on me.”

Harrison was dropped by a whirlwind of 33 Haye punches in the third then rose to take another seven unanswered blows before the ref stopped it. (ANI)
