LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly lining up a sensational swoop for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor during the January transfer window.

According to reports, Tottenham wants the unsettled Manchester City striker on loan, but may also fancy an option to buy him at the end of the season.

Adebayor, who has repeatedly said that he is frustrated over his lack of opportunities at the club, has indicated that he is ready to leave City when the transfer window opens in January.

“There is a real chance we could land Manu in the transfer window - although a lot does depend on who pays his wages,” the Sun quoted a Tottenham insider, as saying.

“City expect us to pay the bulk but the big question is how far our board are prepared to go,” he added.

Signed in a 25 million pound deal from Arsenal 15 months ago, the 26-year-old has started just one Premier League game all season and is still awaiting his first league goal.

The 26-year-old earns 160,000 pounds a week at Eastlands, double of what anyone else is on at White Hart Lane. (ANI)
