NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Russia is really proud after winning the race to host World Cup 2018. This victory has brought into many long term Russia benefits to the country.

A country like Russia that requires a lot of infrastructure upgradation, hosting this grand event may help Russia to improve its infrastructure dramatically. How? First of all it needs modernize all the stadiums and airports before staging such an important event such as Football World Cup. There is a huge cost involved in such a process.

Meanwhile Russia had made an immense progress to improve its infrastructure after it was handed over the responsibility of organizing the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi in the year 2007. With this World Cup hosting Russia will become an attractive destination for tourists. For along time tourists has abandoned to visit Russia because of the need to obtain a visa, lack of affordable and comfortable hotels and the underdeveloped transport infrastructure.

Now thing seems to develop a lot as the Russian government has pledged to scrap visas for those in possession of World Cup tickets. Consequently we could expect that the transport infrastructure will improve and more hotels will be built. How much Russia could improve can only be estimated after the termination of the event.
