BCCI maintains total transparency on IPL: Amin
By IANSSunday, January 9, 2011
BANGALORE - Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Chirayu Amin Sunday denied that Chennai Super Kings owner N. Srinivasan had an edge over the other team owners as he is also the cricket board’s secretary.
“We want to maintain total transparency. There is corporate governance,” he said at a press meet at the end of the two-day auction ahead of IPL fourth edition.
“It is better to ask the franchisees themselves,” Amin said pointing to Royal Challengers Bangalore owner Vijay Mallya and Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia flanking him.
He was responding to a question on the issue of conflict of interest of Srinivasan being a team owner and secretary of the board that runs IPL.
While Mallya did not respond, Wadia indicated that he had no problem with Srinivasan in the dual role.
“Communication to franchisees from BCCI has been good,” said Wadia.
