Manipur remain at top with 14 wushu gold

RANCHI - Manipur Wednesday continued to be at the top of the medals tally at the National Games here by winning 14 of the 40 gold on offer in wushu, a form of martial arts.
In wushu, Manipur led with 14 gold, seven silver and six bronze followed by Delhi who won 10 gold, five bronze and five silver.
Madhya Pradesh and Haryana won six gold medals each.
Of the total 138 medals in wushu, Manipur won 27 followed by Delhi and Madhya Pradesh at 20 each.
In the overall medals tally, Manipur are on top with 19 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze. Delhi and Madhya Pradesh are on second and third position with 18 and 16 gold medals.
Manipur’s gold medals came from 14 in wushu and two each in sepak takraw and rowing.
Delhi won 10 in wushu and seven in swiming. All the swimming gold medals were won by Richa Mishra.
Madhya Pradesh won six gold in wushu, three each in taekuwondo and karate and others.
Host Jharkhand are at ninth position, winning seven gold.
