SYDNEY - Australia’s Mr. Cricket Mike Hussey has said that he has always seen England off-spinner Graeme Swann as a relaxed and talented cricketer.

Hussey, who played with Swann at Northants for three years in the last decade, said: “I o remember thinking what a talented cricketer he was. I often wondered why he wasn’t in the England team. He had so much ability, and he was good fun around the dressing room. I always believed that if he got a chance for England he would do well because he had all the attributes.”

“He’s developed a lot since then. He’s got more consistency, belief in his ability, and he understands his game more now,” Hussey told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“He and I have caught up when we’ve played against England, and I don’t think he’s changed much as a person. He’s still a larrikin, a relaxed sort of guy, and we’ve enjoyed chatting a bit over the years about those days at Northants.”

There won’t be time for chat when they take centre stage during the Ashes, especially with the likelihood that their relative performances will have a telling impact on the result. (ANI)
