Darren Bravo gets maiden call-up in West Indies team

PORT OF SPAIN - Darren Bravo was the only new face while fast bowler Fidel Edwards was the notable absentee from 13-member West Indies squad announced here for the first two one-dayers against India.
Darren, younger brother of all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, was rewarded by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for his brilliant performance with the bat in the domestic circuit.
Edwards, who played an important role in Deccan Chargers’ Indian Premier League (IPL), was not selected because he is still recovering from the lower back injury that he suffered during the World Twenty20 in England.
Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard, and Darren Sammy, who were a part of the squad in the World Twenty20 failed to to find a place in the one-day team.
The first two one-dayers of the four-match series will be played at Kingston, Jamaica, July 26 and 28.
