Sania Mirza to be Engaged in Off-Court Double’s Knot

HYDERABAD - Tennis sensation Sania Mirza will get engaged in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday evening.

Sania Mirza is getting engaged to her childhood friend Mohammad Sohrab Mirza, a Hyderabad based businessman and son of N. Adil Mirza. The engagement ceremony will take place at plush hotel Taj from 8 p.m onwards.

It has been a very well kept and strictly guarded secret of the Mirza household as no news have been leaked outside regrading the intricate details of the engagement ceremony.

Imran Mirza, father of Sania Mirza said that the engagement ceremony was a family affair with only the closed ones being invited.

“It is a family oriented thing where only a very few close people and friends have been invited. It is not a show,” said Imran.

The guest list, the venue details, even the minute details of what is going to be served at the occasion has been guarded fiercely by the Mirzas even hours before the engagement is scheduled to take place. What is most amazing is that even guests invited to the event are not going around divulging information about the venue.
However, according to sources, it has been suggest that there will be a huge turn out of more than 600 guests. The sources also suggest that the engagement dress that Sania is going to put on has been designed by the Delhi based designer duo Nikhil and Shantanu. Nikhil has supposedly confirmed that they are designing the outfit for Sania.

Almost 100 items are going to feature on the menu that is meant to cater to the palette of the wide spread invited guests. Delicacies like Lahori mutton curry, Hyderabadi biryani, falooda, jalebi, chicken salad are among some of the items that will be served to the guests. It is being speculated that the guest list would boast of names like Mahesh Bhupathi, Dr. K.J Reddy (who had treated her knee injury), socialite Pinky Reddy among other.

Meanwhile two men have been arrested at the Mirza residence both of who had come to profess their love to the tennis star and woo her hand in marriage. The names of the men are Ajay Singh Yadav and Mohammad Ashraf. Following this the security at the Mirza residence at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad has been considerably stepped up.

Sania became the first Indian eve to capture any Grand Slam title when she partnered Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova to win the junior doubles title at Wimbledon in 2003 and later she became the first Indian woman to win a WTA event that she won on her home courts at Hyderabad, in 2005.
