CHICAGO — Andrew Ladd, Duncan Keith, Troy Brouwer, Kris Versteeg and Jordan Hendry scored first-period goals to chase Olympic gold medal-winning goalie Roberto Luongo in the Chicago Blackhawks’ 6-3 victory over Vancouver on Friday night.
Marian Hossa added a goal and assist, Jonathan Toews had two assists, and Cristobal Huet made 20 saves to help Chicago win for the sixth time in seven games and pull into a first-place tie with San Jose in the Western Conference.
Luongo, making his second start since backstopping Canada to the Olympic title Sunday, was replaced by Andrew Raycroft to start the second. Ryan Kesler, Alex Burrows and Mikael Samuelsson scored for the Canucks.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Tim Connolly scored at 2:31 of overtime, Adam Mair had a goal and assist, and Ryan Miller made 27 saves for Buffalo.
Thomas Vanek also scored for the Sabres, who won for just the second time in their last 10 games to move a point in front of Ottawa for the Northeast Division lead
Simon Gagne and Mike Richards scored for the Flyers, who’ve lost two straight after winning five in a row. Michael Leighton finished with 32 saves.
In overtime, Leighton was able to stop Buffalo defenseman Toni Lydman’s shot from the left circle, but Connolly corralled the rebound in the low slot and lifted the puck up and in for the winner.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Daymond Langkow, Curtis Glencross and Eric Nystrom scored second-period goals, and Miikka Kiprusoff made 22 saves for Calgary.
Matt Stajan and David Moss scored in the third period for the Flames, who scored five straight goals after U.S. Olympic star Zach Parise opened the scoring for New Jersey in the first period. Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk scored in the third for the Devils, and Martin Brodeur finished with 20 saves.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Mike Comrie scored in regulation and added the shootout winner to snap Edmonton’s losing streak at three games.
Comrie slipped a backhander through Niklas Backstrom’s pads in the sixth round of the tiebreaker, and Jeff Deslauriers deflected Guillaume Latendresse’s shot over the net with his glove to finish off the Wild.
Latendresse scored in regulation for Minnesota.

DETROIT (AP) — Darren Helm scored twice, and Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist for Detroit.
Tomas Holmstrom and Henrik Zetterberg also scored, and Jimmy Howard made 20 saves. J.P. Dumont and Joel Ward scored for Nashville, and Dan Ellis stopped 27 shots.
