Clark’s 32 leads No. 24 Middle Tennessee
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Alysha Clark had 32 points and 15 rebounds for her 56th career double-double, leading No. 24 Middle Tennessee to a 78-53 victory over Central Florida on Sunday.
Chelsia Lymon scored 17 points and Jackie Pickel added 12 for the Blue Raiders (1-0).
Emma Cannon had 19 points and 17 rebounds for Central Florida (0-1).
Clark, who led the nation in scoring last season with a 27.5-point average, had 17 points in the first half before picking up her third foul with 5:31 left and Middle Tennessee leading 30-19. The Knights got within 30-23 at halftime.
Middle Tennessee used a 19-4 run over the first 10 minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. Clark scored eight points in the run.
