Batting sensations Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh rescued India from a precarious position on day one of the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad on Monday. India piled up 385 at the loss of 6 wickets.

After winning the toss, India elected to bat, but lost early wickets in the form of Laxman, Tendulkar, Gambhir and Sehwag.

On the other side, Twenty eight year old Welegedara, who is playing only his second test match for Srilanka, has beautifully bowled out Gambhir. He also took valuable wickets of Sehwag and Tendulkar.
