Princeton rallies past Manhattan 61-54

PRINCETON, N.J. — Zach Finley scored 16 points and Princeton rallied to defeat Manhattan 61-54 on Wednesday night.

The Tigers (2-0) fell behind 12-2 and made only one field goal in the first 6:14. Princeton tied the game at 20 on a Dan Mavraides 3-pointer, then took the lead on another 3 by Pawel Buczak.

The Jaspers (1-1) took a 34-31 lead into halftime and led 50-43 with 8:18 left on a layup by Darryl Crawford. The Tigers regained the lead at 53-52 on another Mavraides 3-pointer with 3:26 left and made all eight of their free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win.

Princeton outscored Mahnattan 30-20 in the second half despite shooting only 28.6 percent from the field (6-for-21). The Tigers made up for it by making 16 of 20 free throws.

Mavraides added 13 points for the Tigers and Buczak had 11.

Crawford and Rico Pickett led the Jaspers with 14 points apiece.
