KOCHI - Indian speedster S. Sreesanth, who made a great comeback to the Indian cricket team after a gap of 18 months, arrived Saturday on a day-long trip to this Kerala town to offer prayers at the Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur.
Arriving at the airport here Saturday morning, Sreesanth said he was delighted to have made a good comeback.
“I have come for a day and I will be visiting the Guruvayur temple,” Sreesanth told reporters.
Sreesanth was declared Man of the Match at the Kanpur Test against Sri Lanka where India recorded its 100th Test victory.
Saturday is considered an auspicious day for devotees of the Sri Krishna Temple as it is Ekadashi, according to the Hindu calendar.
A temple official told IANS that they were aware that Sreesanth would be coming to the temple.
Sreesanth and his parents are regular visitors to the Krishna temple. He is to rejoin the team Sunday.
Sreesanth has earlier run into trouble with his aggressive behaviour on field. He made a comeback after a long injury lay off.
Before this Test against Sri Lanka, he had last played in a Test against South Africa, also at Kanpur, in April last year.
