No. 12 Florida State defeats Missouri, 73-66

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Jacinta Monroe scored 12 points to lead No. 12 Florida State to a 73-66 win over Missouri on Sunday.

Christian Hunnicutt added 10 points for the Seminoles (6-0).

Amanda Hanneman led Missouri (3-2) with 20 points, including six 3-pointers.

Florida state was trailing by five in the middle of the second period when Hunnicutt keyed a 16-0 run, scoring 10 points in a four-minute span. Her 3-pointer from the wing, her second of the run, gave FSU a 63-52 lead.

The Tigers cut the lead to one on Shakara Jones’ jumper with 4:07 left, but fouled FSU’s Cierra Bravard on a layup. Bravard made the free throw to put the game away.

The Tigers kept things close by staying hot from 3-point range. Missouri hit nine 3-pointers. The Tigers weren’t as formidable from the free throw line, shooting just 56.3 percent.
