Garner pasting has Windies in performance mode

PERTH - Former West Indies fast bowler Joel Garner is reported to have given a pasting to the current national squad led by Chris Gayle after its capitulation to the Australians in the Gabba Test inside three days, but what he said, remains top secret.
Garner’s verbal spray resonated as the Windies bounced back with gusto in Adelaide, but he would not disclose the contents of his address when quizzed by the Herald yesterday.
“What I said to the team in the team meeting is not for public consumption. Whatever I had to say to the team was private, and I suppose they understood the message,” Garner was quoted, as saying.
“The fellows have come out fighting for that Test match, they showed the kind of commitment and dedication that was necessary. It goes to show that if you keep practicing, and you keep doing the things you are supposed to, you’ll get the results,” Garner added.
“I am not going to worry about what Australia is doing with their team, we have to get our cricket back on track. My main intention right now as manager of this team is to ensure we play the kind of cricket that is expected of the West Indian team,” he said. (ANI)
