American Davis wins men’s 1,000 at World Cup

KEARNS, Utah — Shani Davis has won the men’s 1,000 meters at a long-track speedskating World Cup event in Utah.

Skating in the final pairing at the Utah Olympic Oval, Davis crossed in 1 minute, 6.67 seconds on Sunday.

Lee Kyou-Kyuk of South Korea was second in 1:07.07. Mika Poutala of Finland took third in 1:07.24.

American Chad Hedrick finished fifth with a personal-best of 1:07.34.
