Nadal advances to Qatar Open final
DOHA, Qatar — Rafael Nadal advanced to the Qatar Open final by defeating Viktor Troicki of Serbia 6-1, 6-3 Friday.
“I will try to play like this again tomorrow,” Nadal said. “I am moving really well now.”
The Spaniard could face top-ranked Roger Federer in the final. The 15-time Grand Slam champion from Switzerland played Nikolay Davydenko later Friday.
Nadal, playing without a coach in Doha, broke Troicki three times in the first set at the Khalifa Tennis Complex.
Troicki managed to break Nadal in the second set despite trailing 4-0, but couldn’t stop the reigning Australian Open champion.
