Jackets send Blunden to Syracuse

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Mike Blunden to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse.

Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson announced the move shortly after the team’s 3-0 victory over San Jose on Wednesday night.

Blunden, who was added to the roster on emergency recall on Jan. 6, has not had a goal or assist but has a +1 plus/minus rating in 22 games with the Blue Jackets this season. Chicago’s second pick, 43rd overall, in the 2005 draft, he has four goals and five assists in 15 games at Syracuse.
