DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA (GaeaTimes.com)- Jamie McMurray, who won the season opening race of the NASCAR, broke down weeping twice after the win, once at the Victory Lane itself, and then before the press who had assembled to take the interview of one of the greatest comeback drivers in the history of the race. In fact, it is not surprising that Jamie McMurray had to speak at the interviews with his voice choked with sobs. This had been a comeback win for him, and moreover, one of the most closely contested races in history, with Jamie McMurray managing to secure a lead only in the final two laps of the race.

As Jamie McMurray stood before the press badgering him to say something, he could hardly speak, as sobs choked his voice. He referred to the incident that had taken place only the last year, with the Roush Fenway Racing calling him off in order to accommodate their new four car quota. As he recalled the incident, he went on to express his thankfulness at being called back once more, crediting it to Felix Sebates and Chip Ganassi.

The season opening race turned out to be a most exciting and most unpredictable one. It was not certain what the outcome of the race would be till the final two laps, when Jamie McMurray got the lead, ousting Dale Earnhardt Jr. In fact, this is the first time, possibly, that a lead has been taken by a Daytona 500 winner for only this many laps, making Jamie McMurray a record holder of sorts.
