Kevin Van Der Perren: Costume Catastrophe!

VANCOUVER, CANADA (GaeaTimes.com)- Figure skater Kevin van der Perren, who is in the Olympics along with his figure skater wife Jenna McCorkell, came into the limelight in the short program of the men’s figure skating championships not because of his performance, but because of what he wore to the performance. Almost every time the costumes worn by the figure skaters to the competition become hot topics for the next few days, spewing discussions about men’s figure skating fashions. However, Kevin Van Der Perren’s costume at the competition seems to have hogged the maximum amount of limelight this year.
While it cannot be denied that Kevin van der Perren delivered an outstanding performance in the short program of the men’s figure skating championships, what really took a lot of focus away from that was the costume that he wore in the contest. He was seen in the competition wearing a one piece body suit, covered all over with white stripes, meaning to look like a skeleton. Although he managed to achieve the effect, it also became the most talked about costume for the day, albeit not in the way he would have liked it to be.
Kevin van der Perren’s costume, needless to say, earned quite a lot of unkind remarks, with most of the observers deciding that it made him look more as though he was headed for a Halloween party than the figure skating championships of the Winter Olympics. Whereas the costumes worn in the figure skating championships always draw a lot of attention, Kevin van der Perren’s apparel definitely surpassed them all.
