VANCOUVER (GaeaTimes.com)- Julia Mancuso, who has become famous for her dazzling tiara, these days loves sporting it whenever she is out. On Wednesday she got her hands on a perfect match for her beloved tiara. After getting beaten by Lindsey Vonn, her teammate in the Olympic downhill for women, she paraded at the bottom of the hill sporting her favorite crown. Those who saw her had to agree that the silver medal was a nice match for the tiara. In fact, the trend of wearing tiaras has been inspired by her. Her mother and sisters also wore tiaras when they came to cheer her during the event.
Julia Mancuso is so fond of her tiara that she has painted a picture of it atop her skiing helmet. She has said that she would keep it with her. It was only during the medal ceremony that she took the tiara off. She got addicted to tiara in 2006. It was at the Turin Winter Olympics that she was gifted a tiara from a coach. She was lovingly referred to as the team’s princess.
Julia Mancuso hogged attention on Wednesday for reasons other than her favorite tiara. After a close competition with teammate Lindsey Vonn, she came in second. She finished almost a minute after the gold medal winner. However, she was not particularly remorseful after getting the second spot. It was only during the medal ceremony that she exhibited an expression of disappointment. To the contrary, Lindsey Vonn appeared quite jolly at that time, which is quite expected.
