2,000 police personnel deployed for India- S.Africa 2nd ODI in Gwalior

GWALIOR - Ahead of the second One-Day International (ODI) cricket match to be played between India and South Africa on Wednesday (Feb. 24) security has been tightened here.
Around 2,000 armed security personnel have been deployed at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium, the venue of the second ODI.
Bar-code scanners will be used during the match, with a scanner placed at every gate to check the authenticity of the tickets.
Only valid ticket holders would be allowed to enter the stadium and spectators would not be allowed to carry anything except water bottles.
“We have the required strength of forces that we need. For the security of this stadium, we have made three-tier security arrangements. All the vehicles will be allowed to park at the four exit gates and after parking their vehicles, the spectators will have to enter the stadium through their respective entry doors. Most importantly, all the tickets have their specific bar code and only after ensuring the authenticity of the bar code, they will be allowed to enter. This is to ensure that no one would be able to enter the stadium with a forged ticket. We have deployed around 2000 personnel out here,” said Manohar Singh Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Gwalior.
Meanwhile, both the Indian and South African teams arrived in the city on Monday (February 22).
Heavy security arrangements were made outside the airport to receive the team. The teams landed at around 1.30 pm (local time) and headed to their respective hotels.
The first ODI was played in northwestern Jaipur city on Sunday (February 21) while the third and final match will be played in Ahmedabad city in the western state of Gujarat on February 27. By Ashok Pal (ANI)
