KOCHI - With six months to go for Commonwealth Games, the organising committee Saturday kicked off a series of road shows in this Kerala city to mobilise people to be a part of the mega sporting event.

The road shows were launched by Jiji Thomson, special director general of the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010.

“With six months to go before the Games, the time has now come for all Indians to come together and join in this historical event. It is time for each Indian to realise that the Games are for each and every one of us,” said Thomson.

He said the road show is an effort to galvanise and mobilise people across the country and encourage them to be a part of the event.

During next six months several road shows, cultural events, paining competitions, quiz programmes and dance festivals will be organised across the country.
