ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (GaeaTime.com)- The Saturday night lightweight UFC 112 fight between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn brought a historical win for Frankie Edgar as he broke the winning streak of the defending Champion BJ Penn, who had reined in the ring for six years now. The crowd of 11,008 was not only amazed with the brilliant tactics that Frankie Edgar put forward to win the game with the unanimous decision of the judges, but also with his courage. However, all was not a cake walk for Frankie Edgar as he had to face some blows at the beginning of the game from BJ Penn.

In the first two rounds of the game, BJ Penn managed to get a lead and it seemed that Frankie Edgar was finding it hard to tackle the defense of BJ Penn. However, this did not last for long; Frankie Edgar took the lead and put the pressure on the side of BJ Penn for the rest of the game. Frankie Edgar delivered a take down over BJ Penn and then went for some shots on the mat. He left no stone unturned to get to the title and the viewers cheered loud to his success.

Frankie Edgar was declared the champion after the buzzer marked the end of the game. While Frankie Edgar stood up with his hands over his head to celebrate his grand success, BJ Penn went to his corner. The scorecards of Judges read 50-45, 48-47 and 49-46. Endowed with the prestigious championship belt on his waist, Frankie Edgar said that he hopes he can be the champion as BJ Penn was.
