Jahvid Best Goes To Detroit

SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- The Bears had to give up on their prized running back Jahvid Best to the Detroit Lions after he got picked up by them in the first round of the draft of the National Football League. Naturally, this is not going to be an easy one for the Bears, for they have lost one of the most competent players in their team, one that they would be hard put to replace, even if they manage to rope in Shane Vereen for the position. For Jahvid Best it is good enough to have been chosen for the Heismann Trophy, one that he missed only because of a terrible injury that he suffered shortly after being nominated.
The Detroit Lions too seems to be aware of the demands that Jahvid Best would be in the draft. It seems that they did not want to take any chances, and had not informed anybody of their choice, leaving the football fraternity of the United States open mouthed after their decision was declared. They had not even informed Jahvid Best himself of their intention, and he was just in the same position as everybody else when they posed the offer before him.
Jahvid Best admitted that he had no clue that he was going to be chosen by the Lions, and, thrilled though he was about the phone call, he found it hard to believe, and inquired how they had called him even if they had not yet reached their turn. The Detroit Lions moved up from their No 34 position to 30th, just to broker the deal with Jahvid Best.
