KANSAS CITY (GaeaTimes.com)- The Kansas City Royals general manager on Thursday announced that it was replacing the manager of the Kansas City Royals Trey Hillman with the former Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost. The decision came just after the win of the team over the Cleveland Indians. The team has been struggling for a long time now and had a streak of seven losses before they finally broke the jinx with the win over Cleveland. While announcing the decision taken by the Kansas City Royals management committee, the general manager of the team Dayton Moore said that Trey Hillman was an “incredible leader” who had influenced the life of many in the Kansas City community but maintained that the present replacement is being done keeping in mind the need of the team. The team according to him needed a replacement.
Trey Hillman is the first Major League Baseball manager to be sacked this season. However, reports claim that Trey Hillman though has been fired from the managerial position; he is still with the Kansas City Royals team and has been assigned some other duties. As of yet the position in which he will be seen in the team management has been disclosed to the media sources neither by Trey Hillman nor by any other person. However, Trey Hillman has said that he holds no “bitterness” against the team management and said that it is a part of the baseball game that sometimes it works out well and sometimes it does not.
Trey Hillman had joined the team in 2008 and has been with the team for three seasons. In 2008, under his guidance the Kansas City Royals was 75-87 while in 2009 they slid to 65-97. Ned Yost was hired by the Kansas city Royals in 2009 as a special baseball adviser.
