ATLANTA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Atlanta Braves are having to deal with a major issue, with three of their players having been suspended for the next fifty games that the team would be playing. All the three had tested positive in a drug test, testing positive for the use of amphetamine, a drug that is used in order to enhance one’s performance, and is, therefore, illegal in athletic circles. All three players are members of the sub team of the California League, the single- A Myrtle Beach. The suspension orders were given pout on Friday, May 21, 2010, and came into effect immediately. The three players would not be allowed to take part on the next 50 games that the team will play.

The three players who have been suspended from the Atlanta Braves team are Albaro Campusano, the second baseman, Geraldo Rodriguez, the first baseman and Amadeo Zazueta, the shortstop. It does not need to be mentioned that the incident is going to have a very big black mark against the names of these three players, who, although pretty good by themselves, are not exactly of the star status, and the charge is likely to have a major negative impact on their future prospects.

On the other hand, the Atlanta Braves team is also likely to suffer considerably from this loss. All three of the players, Amadeo Zazueta, Albaro Campusano and Geraldo Rodriguez were key players in the team, and it is likely to cause quite some disruption in the up and coming games, and losing them for 50 games straight cannot be a very good prospect. Moreover, the charges are also going to tarnish somewhat the reputation of the Atlanta Braves.
