South Korea leads 2-0 over Greece
PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa — Captain Park Ji-sung scored in the 52nd minute to give South Korea a 2-0 lead over an ineffective Greece after 60 minutes in a World Cup Group B match.
The Manchester United midfielder moved past two defenders and scored to put the Koreans in command Saturday.
South Korea went ahead in the seventh minute when Ki Sung-yong’s free kick went over a group of players to an unmarked Lee Jung-soo at the far post, who tapped in the Koreans’ first chance on goal.
Greece had only one off-target shot in the first half. South Korea had three of its five shots on target.
