South Korea leads Greece after 75 minutes
PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa — South Korea withstood some late pressure from Greece to hold a 2-0 lead after 75 minutes of their opening Group B match at the World Cup.
Greece had good chances in the 70th and 71st minutes Saturday, but one shot went over the bar and another wide of the net.
Captain Park Ji-sung scored a solo goal in the 52nd minute to give South Korea a 2-0 lead. The Manchester United midfielder moved past two defenders to put the Koreans in command.
South Korea went ahead in the seventh minute when Ki Sung-yong’s free kick went over a group of players to an unmarked Lee Jung-soo at the far post, who tapped it in.
